BACKGROUND
 
One of the 101 Ford GTs produced to European specifications
 
This 2005 Ford GT is the modern reinterpretation of the GT40, produced in limited series between 2004 and 2006 to celebrate the centenary of the Ford Motor Company. It takes up the aesthetic codes: lowered profile, profiled doors encroaching on the roof, side air intakes and longitudinal running strips.
 
This copy is part of the 101 Ford GT produced to European specifications, a number chosen in reference to the chassis number of the first GT40. These cars are distinguished from North American examples by several approval elements such as headlight washers, front gauge lights, redesigned rear bumpers as well as engraved door sills "ONE OF 101 FORD GT", present on this vehicle.
 
It was commissioned on a firm basis in August 2003 in Mies, Switzerland, by Jean-Pierre Slavic, an internationally recognized collector for his Ferrari collection. The order was placed more than two years before delivery: by that date, European production of the GT had not yet begun and Ford Motor Company (Switzerland) SA announced a delivery scheduled for May or June 2005.
 
The vehicle was delivered new by Ford Motor Company (Switzerland) SA in Centennial White, with painted GT strips and BBS 18"/19" alloy wheels. Everything was mounted on Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. It was prepared by FM Autoservice AG in Hinwil, then shipped to the Ford distribution center in Rothrist. Its first registration dates from September 27, 2005, in the canton of Vaud.
 
The car is now in our premises, on French territory and has a French registration card. It shows 15,500 miles, or 25,000 kilometers.
 
The mechanical part is based on an aluminum chassis associated with a 5.4-liter V8 supercharged by Lysholm compressor, developing 557 horsepower and 675 Nm of torque, coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. The Swiss acceptance sheet approves a maximum speed of 330 km/h.
 
The cabin combines performance-oriented engineering with high-end materials: black leather upholstery with perforated aluminum inserts, competition-inspired six-dial dashboard, aluminum console and gear lever, carbon elements. The counter is graduated in miles, as on all Ford GT production, all markets combined.
